Welcome to Rothesay

Rothesay is truly a “community of communities” and a suburban retreat for all ages. Our motto “Quinque Iuncta in Uno” (Five United in One) represents the strength and unity of our Town and the five founding communities.

Our residents and visitors enjoy beautiful parks, beaches on the Kennebecasis River, wharves, hiking trails, sports fields, and many playgrounds for children. The commercial district is bustling with independently owned community businesses, boutique and local shopping, restaurants, and microbreweries. Since August 2018, Rothesay has been designated as an Age-Friendly Community.

Rothesay is proud of its heritage (some structures pre-date Confederation) and modern amenities. The Rothesay Common was voted as the 2016 “People’s Choice Public Space” in the Great Places in Canada contest. Rothesay is home to several community events including a weekly Summer Concert Series, Canada Day Celebrations, the KV Santa Claus Parade, Mayor’s Tree Lighting, Fundy Winterfest, and our popular Glow in the Dark Skate at the Rothesay Common.
